The Miami Web Fest Monologue competition was designed to give exposure to the many wonderful actors living in
South Florida or involved in some way in productions associated with the festival.
This year, the event will take place on Thursday, April 26th at 8pm and will be preceded by an acting seminar given by MICHAEL JACQUES.
The event will work like an “open mic”, where those wishing to compete will arrive early and put their name on a list to perform.
All actors will select from a series of pre-selected monologues.
These monologues will be made available to those wishing to compete no later than two weeks before the event, however,
those wishing to compete should check the schedule regularly because the list may be released earlier.
Competitors will perform one (1) monologue from the pre-selected list.
Once the event is at capacity, we cannot continue to sell tickets.
So, those wishing to pitch need to do three things to improve your chances of success.
First, you need to purchase your $20 ticket to the event online right away.
Second, check the website each day until the monologues are released, then select a monologue and memorize it.
Finally, show up 30-minutes early to the event in order to sign up to perform your monologue.
The best monologue will win $200 and a trophy during the Miami Web Fest Awards!
